LIFE STORY

I was born and raised in Little Rock and went to high school at Little Rock Central where I received a scholarship to play football at the University of Arkansas. Though I attended church some growing up, it wasn’t until I was in college that I crossed the line of faith and became a follower of Jesus.
God used my love for football to draw me to Himself. I had a teammate named Ted who kept inviting me to a bible study for football players. I didn’t realize it at the time, but what I know now is that I was Ted’s “project”. In an effort to get him to leave me alone, I agreed to go to the bible study, and it was there where for the first time in life I heard about having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Later that same night, Jesus ambushed me with His love, and I came to know and truly follow Jesus. I’m incredibly grateful that Ted saw past football into the Kingdom of God.
After going to college, I served with Arkansas Athletes Outreach for a few years speaking and leading bible studies with athletes at the University of Arkansas. I later served on staff with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes before heading off to seminary at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Chicago. After seminary I served in churches in Benton, Arkansas and Marietta, Georgia before coming to Fellowship as a Teaching Pastor in 2009. In 1991, I married my wife Jenny, and we have four children- Hunter, Hayden, Hudson and Hope.

HOPE FOR FELLOWSHIP

My hope for Fellowship is that we would be a community of men and women who worship and follow Jesus so passionately that we would turn our city and the world upside down for the glory of Jesus Christ.
