Tribulation

16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

Pre-Tribulation

The Pre-Tribulation position believes that the rapture will occur before the Tribulation. For those of us who are following Jesus during the Church Age will be called up with Christ for 7 years before the Millennium.

Mid-Tribulation

The Mid-Tribulation position believes that the rapture will occur somewhere in the middle during the Tribulation. For those of us who are following Jesus during the Tribulation possibly before the “Bowls of Wrath” will be called up with Christ for half of the 7 years before the Millennium.

Post-Tribulation

The Post-Tribulation position believes that the rapture will occur at the end of the Tribulation. For those of us who are following Jesus during this time will be called up with Christ then return for the Millennium.

We don’t know the hour or day

So be ready

Matthew 24:39-44

39 and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken and one left. 41 Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one left. 42 Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. 43 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

Revelation 16:15

(“Behold, I am coming like a thief! Blessed is the one who stays awake, keeping his garments on, that he may not go about naked and be seen exposed!”)

Armageddon

When Armageddon Occurs

Some believe that this battle occurs after the tribulation and before the millennial reign. Others believe the battle occurs after the millennial reign before the Great White Throne of Judgment.

Where Armageddon takes place

Some believe this is a real battle that takes place in Megiddo.

Some believe this battle is a symbolic interpretation.

Seals, Trumpets and Bowls

Three sets of Judgments | Revelation 6-16

Summary

These judgments represent the perfect and final judgment of God against all sin and evil in the world.

*Notes from WLR Teaching Pastor Mark Henry

Theory One

Each Seal, Trumpet, and Bowl happens simultaneously. The First Seal, the First Trumpet, and the First Bowl all happen at the same time. These aren’t necessarily different judgments as much different angles.

Theory Two

The Seals, Trumpets, and Bowls happen consecutively, with the final Seal and First Trumpet happening simultaneously. The same with the Final Trumpet and First Bowl.

Millennium

Premillennialism

It’s not here yet, but it’s coming: The Church Age is different than the Millennial Reign.

Amillennialism

It’s happening now in a spiritual way: The Church Age is the Millennial Reign.

Postmillennialism

We’re growing into it, more and more every day: The Church Age becomes the Millennial Reign.

How does the hope of the Millennial Reign “bless us”?

  • No matter how much or how little Satan’s power is limited in our current era, he will be defeated one day for all eternity.
  • No matter how much the world wants to complain about God, He is giving mankind every opportunity to believe in Him before the Great White Throne.
  • No matter when Christ begins to reign without the influence of Satan affecting His rule on the earth, we need to live with confidence as ambassadors of the Kingdom of God, knowing who is truly in control.
  • No matter how much the world around us tries to convince us that we’re better than we are as humans, we can let go of trying to prove that to others and ourselves and enjoy the praise of the glorious grace of God in all things.
