Start with our D-Group Basics

D-Groups are the heartbeat of our church community at Midtown. In these groups of 10-18 people we pursue what it means to live out the way of Jesus in our everyday lives. We share meals, pray, learn from the scriptures, and serve our city together.

What is D-Group Basics Class?

D-Group Basics class is required for everyone who would like to join a Midtown D-Group. In this class that lasts about an hour, we discuss what it looks like to be a part of the Midtown family, what the commitment level is when joining a group, and also what you can expect to get out of your experience in a D-Group. Basics Class is offered every other month at Midtown.

Some groups do provide child care, but others do not. Check with the D-Group leaders or members to see what options are available.

Often group leaders choose a study based on the needs or interests of the group, but a lot of groups decide to use discussion questions from the past Sunday’s sermon to go through and discuss.  Click on “FIND A GROUP” and sort by “Group Topic” to see the different ones that are available.

Typically each group meets for an hour and a half to two hours each week or every other week. Most groups seek to multiply over time to continue to grow healthy communities of outreach and service to our cities and towns.

What's the difference between a class and a D-Group?

Classes are short-term opportunities where we speak to different seasons of life or specific topics from the Bible or in relation to life in Christ. These groups can be larger than a regular D-Group and aim at equipping us through teaching and small group discussion. We have classes for Men and Women’s studies primarily on Wednesday evenings, but also throughout the week.
